Webinar: Durability - How do we Measure it?
Presenter: Katie Amelio, PE, Engineer, American Concrete Institute
Hosted by the ACI New England Chapter
Durability is a desirable property for all concrete structures. Ultimately, time is the true measure of durability. Without the luxury of time to wait to determine a structure’s durability, how do we define, measure, and achieve a durable concrete structure? Durable concrete structures should be long lasting this is important for a functioning society. Every project’s acceptable length of service – how long the structure needs to be durable – will be different. This presentation will discuss the importance of durability and current test methods. Topics covered in this presentation include:
• How to define durability
• Where to find durability requirements and guidance
• Commonly used durability tests for freeze-thaw and alkali-aggregate reactivityRegister Now
